25 % on all electronic devices have an ARM-microprocessor inside. “It is a great opportunity to us, because it means that 75 % of devices do not have and ARM processor yet,” said Mr. Warren East, CEO of ARM Holdings Plc.

ARM holdings uses Professor Stephen Furber’s innovation, the ARM microprocessor. Since its invention, 20 million processors have been sold.

“Nokia smartphone has up to 10 ARM processors in one device,” Professor Yrjö Neuvo added. Neuvo is former head of mobile phone development at Nokia.

“More and more devices and applications will use ARM processors, not just mobile phones. During the next 10 years, we might sell up to 80 billion processors,” Warren East predicted.

“The Internet connects people, but more and more also devices with each other. So the numbers add up rapidly,” added Björn Ekelunsd, head of ecosystems and research and CTO of ST-Eriksson. More than half of all mobile phones in use today are anabled by ST-Ericsson's technology. PV
