MILLENNIUM PEOPLE’S CHOICE WINNER TO BE ANNOUNCED DURING TECHNOLOGY WEEK IN JUNE

Which one of Technology Academy Finland’s Laureates should win the Millennium Technology Prize 2010? Pick your favourite at www.millenniumprize.fi/vote.

This year, three European scientists are vying for the Millennium Technology Prize’s main award of EUR 800,000: While the panel of international judges is making its choice, we want to gauge the public’s view on who should win the world’s top prize for innovation.

Select your favourite innovation online at www.millenniumprize.fi/vote. Who do you think deserves the main prize: the developer of plastic electronics, Professor Sir Richard Friend, creator of the ARM microprocessor, Professor Stephen Furber or father of third generation dye-sensitized solar cells, Professor Michael Grätzel?

At the moment, Professor Friend leads the public poll with 57 % of votes. Professor Grätzel is in the second place with 23 % and Professor Furber has 20 % of the votes. Don’t agree?  There’s still time to give your say – the poll closes on 28 May 2010!

The people’s favourite will be named during the Millennium Technology Week in the beginning of June and will also be announced on the Millennium website at www.millenniumprize.fi.
